Game-On!
I remember the days when I was younger, games were few and very expensive. After spending their savings on a home computer for me, my parents were unwilling to spend anything more, even on the other necessary half of a home computer: software.
Instead, I asked them for a subscription to a computer hobbyist magazine, which featured program listings for among things, games. I remember spending hours after school and summer days typing away the programming code for the games that would make my computer come alive.
It is interesting that later in life, I would spend a portion of my life career as a coder, programmer, and software engineer. Things always seem to come around full circle.
Now games are seemingly endless, and the gaming platforms almost ubiquitous around the planet. All those games, but now as an adult, my time is preciously split from other adult concerns. Still, I find myself sneaking a few hours to play some old-school games that I never had the time to get to before.
We grow old when we forget how to play.
